Small Things

Each of the eight video miniatures is a peek into a mundane daily action, the kind each of us does alone but rarely sees others do: cleaning the fridge, idly lying in bed, working, doing the dishes, or simply passing time at home.

Small Things comes from the same interest in the ordinary time between events, but here this time becomes playful and intimate. The works show a woman alone at home, absorbed in simple actions that are not performed for anyone else. There is no drama in this solitude. It is quiet, relaxed, and self-contained.

The videos are shown on tiny screens embedded in black velvet, pillow-like objects. Their scale turns familiar rooms and actions into something close to a dollhouse replica of reality. Looking at them feels slightly secretive, almost like peeking into a private room. The scenes are ordinary, but the act of watching them makes them feel charged: tender, joyful, and slightly erotic.
